School of Excellence 6U-8U

The School of Excellence program is designed for U6-U8 players as an introduction to soccer, focusing on long-term player development. Led by professional full-time staff, training follows the U.S. Soccer Federation’s “Play, Practice, Play” methodology. The curriculum is structured to build year over year, ensuring a smooth transition into the Academy Program (U9) the following Fall, with players attending tryouts in May.

  • Set our youngest players on a path focused on long-term player development.
  • Inspire a true love and passion for the sport (arguably the most important thing).
  • See marked improvement in players’ comfort on the ball and discovery of space.

Coach Paul Smith, Savannah United

Meet the Director

 

Paul Smith is an English FA and U.S.S.F. licensed coach with over 30 years of experience as a coach and director. He was an NCAA All-American in 1996 at Methodist University and was inducted into the NCAA Hall of Fame in 2011. He also holds a Coerver Coaching Diploma.
