Volunteer with Savannah United
Our Recreational Soccer Programs are run on the power of our volunteers!
Young athletes are forever changed and influenced by the coaches they experience during their early years of sports. Regardless of your knowledge or experience, volunteer coaches are temporary teachers of the game of soccer, helping our players develop a lifelong love of the game. At Savannah United our recreational program emphasizes teamwork, fair play, self-confidence, fun and ALL kids play. If they leave the fields with a smile on their face, we have met our goals! Savannah United has a wonderful history of volunteer coaches, so whether you have any prior experience with soccer, we encourage YOU to become a volunteer coach with Savannah United, We have opportunities in six (6) divisions, and we strongly believe coaching soccer will enrich your life in many ways.
▪Positive impact on our community
▪Connect with your child and other players
▪Teach (and re-learn!) valuable life lessons
▪Develop new skills
▪Refreshing fun and exercise
Savannah United Recreational Soccer is a program primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for participants to have fun, learn the sport, and develop life skills including a life-long love of the game. Our Recreational Program includes: • ALL Volunteer Coaches • Players of all skill levels • Less competitive play • Players assigned to teams in a random manner based on practice day request • Biannual shuffling of players and teams
ALL Volunteer Coaches will be offered and receive:
▪FREE registration for child’s team coaching
▪Resources for sample practice plans & drills appropriate for each division
▪Training & materials to help work with children, build skills, and encourage character development
▪Did we mention FREE registration for your child?!
Our recreational program has two seasons, fall season runs from September through November and spring season runs from March through May. Each division has one (1) practice and one (1) game per week.
For the spring season we will have individual registration and a New Team Registration! The new team feature will allow coaches to create their own teams and invite players (each team will have a minimum and maximum number of players allowed based on the division). Team Registration MUST be done by the volunteer coach (link for instructions can be found below). If you are interested in taking advantage of the New team registration, please ensure you have email addresses for all your players (save your team rosters and contacts from this season)! For individual registrations, team assignments will be done in a random manner based on practice day request, players and teams will shuffled biannually.
