05 Aug Savannah United Hosts Special 1v1 Tournament

Earlier this week, Savannah United, in conjunction with current MLS Coach, former English Premier League player & England International, Steve Guppy, held a 1v1 Tournament at Memorial Stadium for our competitive players. Savannah United Technical Director, Keith Gunn said “This was a great way for players to showcase their attacking & defending skills in a high intensity, fun and competitive environment. I think the players really benefited from it, especially those pushed outside of their comfort zone and we hope to hold another event like this in the future.”

The ‘1v1 Formula’ Tournament is held in different locations around the Country and is something the event committee want to offer in more locations and expand. Owner & Founder of the 1v1 Formula Tournament, Steve Guppy commented “We are delighted to have this new partnership with Savannah United. The club was very organized and helped us run another successful event. I am happy the players were able to experience something exciting and new. We are already making plans for the next event in the Savannah area. Well done to all players who participated and all the best to them going into the new soccer year!”

 

Marvel Wynne the former US National team and former MLS player as well as Kenny Tribbett, Nashville FC player were both at the event to help coordinate and interacted with the players and staff.
